Why does the inclusion of food in kids' books hold such strong appeal? We set out to discover this in episode 10's exploration of food in stories for kids. From old favourite Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to Enid Blyton's Faraway Tree books, our childhood memories are full of delicious treats woven throughout our favourite books. Today, it's still a recurring theme.

We meet author Oliver Phommavanh, whose current day kids' books often feature food, from Lengy and Kitchai's Thai restaurant in Thai-Riffic to baked goods in The Other Christy. We chat food in books, Oliver's love of burgers (which you might know about if you follow him on social media!) and also hear about his upcoming release, Natural Born Loser.

In Kids' Capers, we hear from kids themselves about the food scenes they love in their favourite books, we review our latest reads and reveal our latest giveaway - a copy of Super Con Nerd by our interviewee Oliver Phommavanh.
